Tutors run activities in the woodland that is managed by Goblin Combe. Our programmes tutor Alice Tucker is an excellent tutor for groups of all ages and backgrounds and works closely with group leaders to tailor activities for each specific group by making fine adjustments to the off the shelf activities Goblin Combe provides. For larger groups undertaking activities, Goblin Combe calls upon the services of freelance tutors. All tutoring staff are qualified, have relevant experience, first aid training and are CRB checked. Our tutors pride themselves on the unique experience they offer groups taking up activities.
The woodland is sympathetically maintained by our Estate Worker, Michelle James who ensures that permissive footpaths are safe for the public to use all year round, as well as managing volunteer conservation and traditional skills groups to assist with various tasks around the woods. Michelle has many years experience managing woodland and wide ranging skills including coppicing, chain saw use, green woodworking and conservation management.
The Lodge and Centre require regular maintenance and this is carried out by the Estate Caretaker, Peter Brierley. Peter served his apprenticeship in mechanical production engineering and has held various engineering positions during his working life. He ultilises these and other skills include plumbing, decorating, ground maintenance and all manner of ingenious ideas for solving one off problems / challenges in working at Goblin Combe.
