Terms & Conditions

Full terms and conditions are detailed in the PDF document and the Lodge Booking Pack that is sent out with Booking Forms. In particular we would like to draw your attention to the following key points:

  • Cancellation fees apply for bookings not taken up. As a self-funding charity Goblin Combe needs to cover administration costs for bookings that do not go ahead.
  • Access to the Lodge site from Cleeve Hill Road crosses privately owned land. Please ensure that the gates at the entrance are closed when not in use and that only one gate is open at any time.
  • Hire of Goblin Combe Lodge includes: the Lodge with dormitories to sleep 38 and bathrooms; the Cottage including kitchen, communal dining area and syndicate room; and an 18ft Yurt. Fitted under sheets are provided, all other bedding must be provided by the Hirer. Additional campers over the 38 staying at the Lodge need to provide their own tents. For groups larger than 38, campers can stay at an additional cost of £3.50 per head per night.
  • Public address systems may only be used by prior agreement with Goblin Combe management. Music outside the buildings must be turned off promptly at 23:00hrs.
  • Fires are only allowed in the designated fire pit areas. Groups will be provided a limited amount of wood for burning, additional wood can be supplied by prior arrangement at an additional cost. The site is adjacent to a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and wood must not be taken from there.
  • Only the drum barbeques provided may be used on site, this is to prevent damage to the grass. The Lodge site is a rare example of unimproved upland limestone grassland.
  • Fireworks including Chinese lanterns are prohibited from the site.
  • All the land surrounding the Lodge site is in private ownership. Please use public rights of way only to access surrounding countryside. Please respect rights of other landowners and follow the countryside code at all times.
  • You are welcome to enter Goblin Combe woodland directly from the Lodge site. Please keep to marked footpaths at all times. Groups access the Combe at their own liability and are asked to exercise due care in this area where there are several areas of steep ground.
